not plaster coated mdf

We have slowly purchased wooden food from a cheaper line and are regreting it. A piece chipped the other day and inside was some kind of white powder or plaster coating the wood. The wood didn't even seem solid. In short, you get what you pay for,we will be buying haba food from now on!

Absolutely love it, these apples are excellent quality you would expect from Haba. I can't imagine every buying plastic food after buying Haba.

Beautiful!

When my teenagers were just outgrowing pretend play, I discovered Haba foods and was so sad that I couldn't rationalize the investment. How happy I am, that I now have young children again and have a great reason to start collecting. Haba foods are adorable! They are of great quality and perfect for little hands. The apple is the first Haba food I fell in love with. It is perfect.

The apple doesn't fall far from the Haba tree!!

Just like all of the other Haba foods this apple is so beautifully constructed, right down to the wooden stem and beautiful green shine. In comparison to some of the other fruits, like the strawberries or mushrooms, the size is just a bit smaller than prefered. However, the quality and attention to detail far out weighs the size issue in this apple.

We love the apples we have. I was worried about the stem coming off before I bought these, but they are so well made I'm totally fine with letting my little ones play with these. All the Haba foods we've purchased have been put together so well, I'm quite impressed.

Cute little apple

This apple from Haba is really cute and instantly recognizable to kids despite its size (the apple is only 2 inches across which makes it roughly the same size as the Haba strawberry and plum). This may be an issue for slightly older children and / or parents who like their play food to be at the right scale but I have to say that my 3 year old and 5 year old don't seem to care in the slightest.
